Welcome to my closet is a video game / video performance about repetition, routine, and invisible labor. The work reflects on how everyday life becomes structured by continuous tasks that sustain comfort and order for others, often without being noticed or questioned. Developed during a period of intense work for others, the piece emerges as a form of diversion and resistance, reclaiming time through play, styling, and self-directed action. At the same time, it operated as a performance, tracing how one’s own time, attention, and creative energy can be gradually absorbed by systems of labor.
A reflection on how much of life is spent maintaining what belongs to others, while one’s own desires are postponed.
the piece is accompanied by a polyphonic version of “Eu Não Sou Cachorro Não” (“Ain’t no dog, no”) by Waldick Soriano reworked by the artist.
