Photophobia - the fear of light - tells the story of Sanni Est’s exhaustion in the white patriarchal system, of the retreat to the salutary darkness and of her transformative comeback. It was the journey through the shadowlands, the constraints of adapting and personal loss that made her finally feel her true power.

Photophobia - die Angst vor dem Licht - erzählt die Geschichte von Sanni Est's Erschöpfung im weißen patriarchalischen System, vom Rückzug in die heilsame Dunkelheit und von ihrem transformativen Comeback. The design was premised on the idea of permeability. Although we wanted it to be a project where people would follow the route in the order of the album, we also wanted them to be able to pass through the curtains, just as the lights from the TVs could contribute to the ambience of the venue.
The lighting design was conceived so that the project had two facets: one daytime and one nighttime. As the venue was made up of a glass façade, during the day the scenography was white and reflected the sunlight, while at night it was made up of a design of red lights, which added a new layer to the project, as during the night there were concerts and DJs, as well as matching the harmony of Sanni's album and videos.
Das Lichtdesign wurde so konzipiert, dass das Projekt zwei Facetten hatte: eine tagsüber und eine nachts. Da der Veranstaltungsort aus einer Glasfassade bestand, war die Szenografie tagsüber weiß und reflektierte das Sonnenlicht, während sie nachts aus einem Design aus roten Lichtern bestand, das dem Projekt eine neue Ebene hinzufügte, da in der Nacht Konzerte und DJs stattfanden und die Harmonie des Albums und der Videos von Sanni wiedergegeben wurde.
